Return — General

Where is my data stored?

All data stays on your device. Notes are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. If you enable iCloud Sync, data is stored in your personal iCloud account — we have no access to it.

What health data does Return access?

With your permission, Return reads 15 metrics from Apple Health — including sleep, HRV, resting heart rate, steps, exercise, blood oxygen, environmental noise, and mindfulness. This data is only used for on-device analysis and is never shared.

How does the prediction work?

Return uses a multilevel model trained entirely on your device. After 7+ days of data, it begins finding patterns between your health metrics and autonomy scores. After 30+ days, it adds personalized adjustments. Full details on the Science page.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Go to Settings and export as CSV or JSON at any time. Your data is yours.

How do I delete all my data?

Settings → Delete All Data. This permanently removes all records, tags, and model state from your device.

What does Return cost?

Return is available on the App Store. Please check the listing for current pricing and offer details.

Apple Watch

Does Return work on Apple Watch?

Yes. Return for Apple Watch (watchOS 10+) lets you log check-ins from your wrist, view today's timeline, check your autonomy prediction, and track your 7-day trend — no iPhone needed.

How do I add Return to my watch face?

Long-press your watch face to enter edit mode, tap Complications, and select Return. Your autonomy score will always be one glance away.

Widgets & Shortcuts

What widgets does Return offer?

Return includes Home Screen widgets (small and medium) showing your score and trend. It also supports Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, plus a Siri Shortcut for hands-free logging.

Reports & Insights

Does Return generate reports?

Yes. Return creates weekly and monthly autonomy reports automatically. You can also view an annual heatmap — a colour-coded calendar showing your daily scores at a glance.

What are trend alerts?

Return monitors your patterns and sends smart notifications when it detects sustained low autonomy or physiological stress. Each alert offers three actions: record a check-in, start a guided breathing exercise, or defer.

Sync & Backup

Can I sync data across devices?

Yes. Enable iCloud Sync in Settings to back up and sync your data. It's stored in your personal iCloud account — we have no access to it.
